What I Love About Drake June 2018

Scripture Verse:
Proverbs 18:24 " One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin; but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. "

Weird Drake Sayings:
"When I'm 12 I'll be out in the big world so you wont have to worry about me." This came from me talking to Dawson about if he is going to keep living with us or going to move to his moms over the summer. You said it so random we both just turned and looked at you.

 No MD visit this month

Things You Enjoyed:
You like having me sing you songs again at night time and scratching your back. Something you have not wanted me to do in almost a year and now you ask for it every night.  Its really cute because when I finish signing one song, you start into the next one you want me to do. Even after all these years that last song you want me to sing is still Amazing Grace.  Now though you added in a new song, I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me that you want me to sing half way through our song list. I think this one came about because I took yo to see the true story movie of the lead singer and you really enjoyed the movie. You have watched it 3 times already.

Your Most Important Goal right Now:
To go to the Appleseed Academy for summer instead of staying at King Arthur's Castle. You have been at the Appleseed since you were really little and you love this place and they love you. Barbara and Scarlett treat you like family and really love and dote on you. This is actually the last year you can go to daycare and I know how it important it is for you to end in the place you started.  So on June 11th you got your wish that you have been talking about since around Feb of this year and you are now back at the Appleseed Academy.

2 People who occupy your thoughts the most:
Delaney- who you worry about all the time and want to know she is safe, who she is dating, is she eating, did she play with friends, did she spend time with her dad, did mommy talk to her...and on and on. You are kind of obsessed with your sister still and as much as she complains I know she secretly loves it because she talks about you all the time too. :)

Friends: You want to go and play with someone every single day when I get you from daycare. Right now its still Ant Ant (Anthony) who lives in the apartments by grandma, and more recently friends from Hanby Elementary that you ran into at Game Trader: Dalton and Austin. I keep trying to arrange play dates but its been hit and miss and you dont go often enough for your liking.

If you had extra money....
You would spend every penny at Game Trade or one one of your field trips you take with daycare.

The book that has affected you the most....
Nibbles: The Book Monster . You really enjoy this book and how Nibbles eats his way through everything to go on new adventures. The lady who wrote the books actually worked at Appleseed Academy so you are bonded with her and love talking about these 2 books she has and the Nibbles stuffed animal that you have.

Your greatest fear:
You are back to being scared of being abandoned by me. Something I though you got over, but apparently it just took a small hiatus and came back.  I blame your dad for this one because he always disappeared and we never knew when or if he would be back. You had gotten really good about knowing I always come back, but after my trip to Morocco last year I started noticing you getting more clingy about this and calling my phone when i was even 5 minutes late. You would rather keep me on the phone and talk to me until I get home then let me hang up and wait. When I do hang up, you keep calling every 30 seconds to make sure I am still coming.

Struggles and Accomplishments:
We just got your STAAR results and even though this is your 2nd year in 4th grade, you still could not meet the standards to pass the test. You are in the 3rd percent for writing, 5th percent for math and 9th percent for reading. For reading your score was 1311 and you needed to have at least a 1550 to meet grade level.   For reading last year you scored a 31 overall and you got the same for this year. You needed a 56 to pass the approaching grade level and 75  to actually hit grade level. For math you scored 21 last year and 24 this year. You needed to have 53 points to meet grade level. For writing last year you got 31 points, but for some reason this year you only managed to get 22, a dramatic drop. you needed 52 to pass.  You still get to go into the 5th grade since I already retained you once, but I'm so concerned over the gap and how much larger it gets each year from what you should know to what you can actually retain and learn with your disabilities. Sometimes I think I take this harder than you do and other days you are the one that is distraught. I do know that God has plans for you and He is in complete control. Everyone's trials and struggles in life are different and this might be the cross that you have to bear daily and I will make sure I support you and encourage you. I know you can accomplish great things in this world and this is only one small part of who you are and not the defining part Iam worried about. I much rather you have good character and grow into a man of God than be the smartest boy in school. You have an amazing, kind and gentle soul.

TV Shows:

      1.      Little Rascals:  You are really into The Little Rascals right now. I guess you watched one at daycare and fell in love with Alfalfa. You go around the house quoting parts of the shows. Right now you keep saying” take that back you little Jewish priest” and “ Do you know how to make a SANDwhich…that ain’t no sandwich that’s kitty litter.”
          2.       Loud House: Things are crowded in the Loud household, with 11 children -- 10 girls and one boy -- causing craziness in the house. As the only boy, 11-year-old Lincoln is in the middle of all of the chaos. Whether his sisters are giving him unwanted makeovers or he's racing them to the couch to gain control of the TV, Lincoln is often getting involved in antics with his siblings. Lincoln's best friend Clyde, who happens to be an only child, is jealous of Lincoln's large family and is always willing to play his part in the schemes. Clyde has a crush on Lori, Lincoln's oldest sister and self-proclaimed boss, who is dating Bobby, who holds many jobs -- including lifeguard and mall security guard -- even though he's not very smart.
        3.       Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends: A show literally about imaginary friends. Bloo is Mac's best friend in the whole world, but Mac's mom thinks he's too old for an imaginary friend so Boo livrs at Fosters house. Frankie helps keep things under control, and Mac is always stopping by to see Bloo, Eduardo, Wilt, Coco, Cheese and other residents.

Games you are into:
Candy Land, Battle Ship, Mario Kart Monopoly, Uno.

What I Love About Drake May 2018

Scripture Verse:  Hebrews 13:20-21
20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

New Things:
1. Bottle flipping- This drives me 150% bonkers!! You will flip and flip and flip, until  I am about to flip out! You watch videos of people flipping, record yourself flipping bottles, and lock yourself in the bathroom to flip. It drives me crazy and its the thing you love to do the most in life.

2. Fortnight/Fortnight parodies- There is a fortnight parody of Gods Plan by Drake that you watch over and over. You also walk around doing all the dances as well, especially the Floss.

Weight: 69.5 lbs
Height: 56 1/2 (4' 7")
BP: 95/59
Pulse: 90

Things You Enjoyed: We spent alot of time at Game Trade this month playing video games on the XBox 1 and PS 4 (one day these wont even be around anymore and will tell everyone how old you are!!). Otherwise we are doing the normal baseball games for the Rangers, Rough Riders baseball (AAA team), Texas Legends (basketball) and most recently we added in the Texas Revolution (arena football) that you seem to really enjoy.

Weird Drake Sayings: You asked me " I am your moment of joy?" We had come back from my bible study and we were talking about things that bring us joy and when we are stressed out to close our eyes and think about all the things that bring us a moment of joy. I didn't even know you were listening since you were playing on your phone, but apparently you were and wanted to know if you were mine. It was so adorable and yes, you are my moment of joy quit often.

2 People who occupy your thoughts the most:

If you had extra money....
would blow it all on video games and junk food. You just got Matthews DS 3D and are super excited to put games on it. Mario Kart to be specific. He gave you a ton of Pokemon games but you got bored with them and want something new.

Favorite music: Right now its Drake (God Plan); Planet Shakes  (Nothings Impossible)..These are the 2 songs you go around singing all the time, along with the God Plans parody to Fortnight. For some reason that song gets you dancing all the fortnight dances.

You Tubers you are into:

Karim Jovian- He does alot of social media experiments with people in New York and also gets to people to do the Fortnight dances in front of everyone.

Sis Vs. Bro-they do alot of gummy food or real food challenges.  This is where they stick there hand into a box and try to figure out what it is. They are like 10 years old.

What I Love About Drake April 2018

Scripture Verse:
This is not scriptures but so true in your case: When you have done something wrong, admit it and be sorry. No one is history has ever chocked to death from swallowing their pride! Unknown

1.      Guns: 5 years ago, on April 13th your older brother, Matthew, let you hold his shotgun for the first time. You were so happy that he let you be a part of the big boy club it was cute. Of course, he stood by at the ready just in case the unloaded gun that you could barely hold miraculously grew bullet and opened fire. It was cute.
2.      Lecrae: One year ago on April 30th you saw Lacrae give a free concert at the Rangers game and fell in love with Christian Rap music. Still not sure how I feel about that one.

You are currently 67 lbs., and 56” tall. Your shoe size is 4.5 right now and it keeps growing!

Things You Enjoyed:
1.      Boba Tea: Your sister introduced us to boba tea this month. We went to a place in Plano called Dottea and each tried a new boba tea. It was me, you, Delaney, Matthew and Dawson. We just hung out and spent the day together trying new things and going new places for fun. We all really liked the tea. Its different with little bubbles of something that are really chewy throughout the drink. We then went to a Japanese noodle house, which you did not like at all and neither did Delaney. You guys sat and watched us eat and then went to McDonalds. Guess I was asking a little too much in one day!
2.      Lip Sync Battle: We love watching this together and get a kick out of the songs people do. Our all time favorite though has to be when The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) did Taylors Swift “Shake it Off”. It was hysterical. He came out in a skirt and blonde wig and got really into the song. Made us both laugh so hard.
3.      Von Miller Day- Von Miller is an ex Denver Broncos player that does a kid’s day yearly for the last 2 years. We just found out about this and went out to Desoto to hang and play. It was really great and so many ex-football players from the Dallas area showed up and literally just hung out with the kids. They played basketball with you, soccer, football and just ran around chasing you. You even did a 3 on 3 basketball tournament.
4.      Dawson’s Graduation: This year we watched as Dawson graduated high school from West Mesquite. He has worked so hard for this day and we are all incredibly proud of him. We made sure we arrived very early to get the front row. You got all dressed up and even wore jeans with no issue! You sat and cheered for every single person that went across that stage! Afterwards we all went out to Olive Garden to eat and just enjoy the day.
5.      NFL 2018 Draft: Oh yea! We finally got the draft in Dallas. Of course we had to go. You thought you were going to love watching the actual draft take place. I knew it would be boring but you insisted and so I signed up to win tickets and go them. We watched for about 30 minutes and that was it for you. We did get to see who the Vikings picked, the Packers and Cowboys. What we all really enjoyed were all the free activities they were doing outside the draft. You got to  participate in football drills, enjoy interactive exhibits and autograph sessions, and take pictures with the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Your Most Important Goal Right Now:
For some reason its learning how to score keep at the Rangers games. You have become obsessed with having us get a new book every day we go to the games so you can write the line up in them and keep score. Its actually really cute because you are super serious about it and get really mad when people say the play was different than how you called it. I give you dedication though. You are really learning positions, players, calls, and you keep your head in the game the whole time. Plus you get very mad at uncle Shane if we are late and you miss the daily lineup of players! Its really cute.

Struggles and Accomplishments:
You are still so thin that It’s hard to get pants that fit you. Lol They either fit you in the waist but not the legs or vice versa. So you normally still wear sweat pants or shorts because they are the only thing that fits you right both ways. The problem with that is you are so use to the comfort that when you must wear jeans you throw this big fit because you hate the way they feel on your waist, knees and ankles. The struggle is real! Then we still have the ongoing sock issue. Yes, this is a fight we have had almost daily since you were 2 years old. You hate wearing socks. You hate the way they feel in the toes mainly, but also around your heal. The part that bothers you is on the toes were the sock has been sown  together. You want a  smooth, seamless toe and frankly those don’t exist. Then if I buy stocks that are just a little bit bigger the heal does not fit exactly right and you won’t wear them because of this. So every morning we go through this melt down over socks!!! I put them on and off and on and off and then your shoes, then back off and on, then your shoes and on and on it goes till by some miracle of miracles we finally manage to get them on just right that they can stay! We can easily spent 20-30 minutes EVERY SINGLE DAY doing just this. It’s the most stressful part of my morning you and those socks. I finally reached a point I stopped caring and just let you wear your shoes. Problem with this is then your shoes smell like 10 day old garbage that fills up every room you are in and people complain. There is no win here for either of us. So we got smelly shoes and tons of socks that are just waiting to cause an early morning melt down. And please don’t get me started on the sandal issue. It’s just too much. No chonklas for you. One day I can hopefully laugh at all this, but today has not been that day. Who knew socks would be my enemy that brings me to tears.
