What I Love About Drake Feb 2018

Scripture Verse: This is not scripture, but our churches closing benediction every Sunday:
“Go into the world in peace. Have courage; hold onto what is good. Honor all men, strengthen the fainthearted, support the weak, help the suffering, and share the gospel. Love and serve the Lord through the power of the Holy Spirit, ad may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be you all. Amen.”

Weird Drake Saying:
You were sitting on the floor petting Bell and Dracula and went to get up and said: “I'm getting old. It's hard for me to get up and down like this." Grandma and me just looked at you and started laughing. If nothing else, you do keep my entertained all the time. You are without a doubt a comedian at heart.

Things You Enjoyed:
1.      Year of the Dog: This is actually your Chinese year as well being born in 2006. We were sitting in the mall watching the Year of the Dog celebrations when these 4 teenage girls came up to you and asked to share Christ with you. You told them you knew Christ already and were baptized. You guys just kinda started dialoging about what Christ meant to each one of you and how you share your faith. It was so beautiful to sit and watch. Then they just got up and left and you looked at me and said “that was weird”. Lol You love to use my sayings at the strangest times. It was beautiful and funny moment I guess. Of course, you loved the Chinese celebrations: the dragons, getting your name wrote in Chinese, the blessings, food, dress, dancing. It was all great fun and educational to be a part of.
2.      Dracula: This is actually a happy/sad moment. We spent most of the month of February looking for Dracula. He pushed through the door one day and took off and we could not find him. We searched for 3 weeks every day before and after school and on weekends. We posted picture of him on facebook, twitter, pounds and through the neighborhood. Its like he vanished. Then one day out of nowhere he showed up at the house. He had been held captive be someone and had marks of abuse on his body, was extremely dehydrated and underweight, but so happy to see us. It took us over 4 months to get him back to his weight and for the marks to disappear from his body. So on Feb. 28th we got our Dracula back!

If you had extra money....
You would go back to Medieval Times and buy a sword or some other weapon of destruction that you saw up there. You were so mad that I would not buy you anything “sharp” to have sword fights with your friends. Even though you promised you would only be playing and not actually hurting each other. I love your logic.

Book That Changed Your Thinking:
This month in school you guys have been reading books about emotions. Your favorite book in this series was My Mouth is A Volcano by Julia Cook and What Were You Thinking? By Bryan Smith. These books were amazing and really changed your attitude and opened up discussions for us.

Favorite You Tuber:
1.       Team Tebow: You are following sports when you get on You Tube so you get automatic suggestions based on things you watch and look at. This month you had The Eagles pop up into your feed to watch how before the Super Bowl several of the players were baptized and were praying for Gods grace and mercy to be with them. You adored this and after you watched it you told me they would win because they had God. It was so heartwarming that you said that. The Eagles did win, and I am sure their faith played a large role in that as well as their skill which also only comes from God 😉.

Bragging Moment:
I love when I get to do a bragging moment on you. This month your teacher was so proud of the was you were working and how diligent you were in getting things done that she called me on 3 separate times just to brag on you and your work ethic.  She said that you are helping other kids, got to lead lesson time and did really good keeping your hands and feet to yourself ! I am always proud of you, but these are the days I just beam.
