What I Love About Drake June 2016

New Things: My sweet little man bake me a cuppa coffee this morning before I went to work.You measured out the water in the coffee pot, filled the pot, poured the coffee grounds, got cream and sugar in my cup and added the coffee then brought it to me in my room when you woke me up! Super sweet.

1. Soccer Camp: The first two days have been great. You are doing really well and I hope and pray that you are having fun, learning some new soccer skills, and most importantly learning more about Jesus. The theme this week is RELENTLESS and your theme verse for the week is Hebrews 10:39. I love that our church puts on soccer camp each year. This is only the 2nd year, but it is amazing. You get to build relationships with other kids from the community and build stronger bonds with the kids in your Sunday school class. Last year you got a soccer ball with tons of scriptures on it for being the child that showed the spirit of the Lord in love the most and I was beyond proud of you for that.



Even if you do not win anything this year, I know you are still showing that same spirit and care more about showing love towards others than winning. I see it when I watch you play. you are the first to help someone who has fallen down, comfort someone that is hurt or offer to help someone that is struggling.  For that I am overjoyed.

Rangers Baby: 

This month we got to talk alot of smack to all the horrible Boston Red Socks fans as we whooped up on them at the games, including Uncle Derrick!! Below is the smack talking photo we sent Uncle when the Rangers scored the winning run!

Things you Enjoyed: Every Sunday is our Mother/Son day. Most days we are at baseball games, but some days we go see the movies, eat out together, go to the park, let you drive in my lap, go bowling, play baseball, board games, the zoo or anything else we can think of to do that you enjoy. I really enjoy the time we get to spend together. You seem to think thought that a mother/son day should LITERALLY be the WHOLE day and no one else can even talk to me or come into our space. You get really upset if anyone else tries to watch TV with me or ask me do anything with them or take them anywhere.I had to tell you that our day is about 4 hours not really the whole day. Of course you argue with me about this and say no its the "day". I might have to start calling it mother/son time and drop the day.

Things you get in trouble for: You have really, really bad habit of mouthing off and thinking no one can see you or hear you if you turn your back or walk out of the room. You make smug little faces, imitate the person you are mad at, yell, cry, throw a fit, and back talk. You get into so much trouble for this, yet you keep doing it. You have a little temper on you that you need to learn to control before it controls you. I have tried addressing it, ignoring it, spanking you, putting you in the corner, grounding you, taking things away, yet it persists. You are stubborn for sure. This and lying are your 2 worst enemies right now. You seem to think if you smile when you lie its ok to lie, or if you joke about it after you got busted like you intended it as a joke all along you wont get in trouble. This does not work, you get in trouble, yet it persists as well. The double whammy.

What I Love About Delaney-June 2016

New Things: You actually did a couple new things this month. You went to Ft. Worth for the first time. You played laser tag, learned to shoot pool and what it is like to be interested in a man that has a child.

Things you Enjoyed:
1.) Boys- I think this may stay at the top of the list, but it keeps getting more interesting. Poor Blake loves you, but does not want to date you, but definitely  does not want anyone to date you either because he gets crazy jealous and territorial when someone has interest in you and you show interest back. Its fun to watch. I sure do not miss being a teenage girl. Girl problems. So now you found out you live close to Leo and enjoy spending time with him. Needless to say, since he does not want to date you, he gets no say in who you spend time with or who you date. So you hang out with Leo and went to Main Event. You guys played laser tag (your first time), went bowling (his first time) and then played some pool together. All in all I think you guys had fun and once you got past the awkwardness of being together you were able to be more of yourself.  You got together a couple of times this month and even got to meet Leo's little girl when we all went to the Dallas Zoo together. So pretty much this whole month consisted of you wanting to hang out with Leo. Talk to Leo. See Leo. Talk about seeing Leo. Talk about hanging out with Leo. You get the gist I think now. It was cute though to see you so excited about your friend and getting to hang out with him. It was nice to have someone close by when most of your online gang lives far away.

Your Style: Is pretty much short and skimpy, which really bothers me. You wear shorts that seem to barely cover your backside and shirts that show way too much skin. Other than that new trend, your style has stayed the same. Big chunky boots or shoes, skinny jeans, and tshirts. You do want to get your tongue pierced, but that is really the only new thing going on right now.


AHG:  This was the lat month you are doing AHG. We ended the year at the beginning of the month with an awards ceremony and a pot luck. You didn't attempt your level award this year and really did not want to participate much at all. Very few things help your interest in the group except for the rock climbing and photography badges. I think this was a good year to end on. I was getting worn out from it and you were past worn out from it. We both had too many other obligations and the troop kept getting younger with no kids your own age, making it pretty hard to really enjoy yourself. We still have the books, so we can work through them if we desire to, but right now I think its for the best to let it go.

Boys- Like this one on the left who you made this lovely comment about "Mother of all that is holy, please stop being so attractive i'm gonna cry" and boys like Blake Russo on the right who you majorly obsess over and stayed glue to your cell phone to talk to 24/7. yes you even fall asleep talking to each other and yet you are not dating. 

4. Your Own Unique Style: You are a weird mix between super super girly girl then complete tomboy. Lately more of the girly girl than the latter. Your style though is short shorts, short skirts, half shirts that hang off your shoulders and thigh highs. Otherwise you still love everything Alice in wonderland as you have for the last several years. it went from an obsession over Bell in Beauty in the Beast, to Alice in Wonderland instead.  Things you Enjoyed:  
    
1.Rangers/Blue Jays Brawl has to top our month. It was an epic game, with a bobble head, fight and victory all rolled into one. It all started when Batista got attitude and threw his bat. He tried a hard slide into Odor, who nailed him with a vicious right hook for the dirty slide. This prompted an all out team against team mass fight that was amazing! There had been alot of tension threw the whole game and you knew it was coming to a head and our team handled up and whooped some Blue Jay butts, not once, but twice and almost for a 3rd time. Great game.














2. Texas Rangers Games and Photo Ops:  

You love the top of the 5th when you can go into the kids club and get pictures taken with the Rangers mascot. I really am starting to think this is one of your favorite times. You have TONS of photos with him and still want to go every game to take pictures, have him eat your head, give you knuckle bumps, sign strange things, and hang out and make you laugh. I give our mascot that, he is great with the kids and does not rush the pictures and takes times to make each one laugh and enjoy the experience. It really ads to the game day experience for kids. That and of course the dot race..Go GREEN!



3. All Things Ninja Turtles: 
Yep you seek out those little green guys everywhere you go, even at the Rangers games. Your patients paid off as you ran across 2 of them in the parking lot doing photo ops and you wasted no time running over there, leaving me in the dust to go and hang 10 with the turtles. You are looking forward to the movie coming out and we have a date night planned already. These guys are just psyching you up for the big day!

4. Mothers Day: 
Well at least it better be on your top list. In my mind it is and since I
am writing this blog its on yours as well. Glad we had that little talk. Anyway your Uncle Shane took you to buy my mothers day gift. You wanted to bring my back CM Punk, but sadly he was not available for purchase and kidnapping is still a crime so you settled for beautiful flowers and a movie we watched together.

5. Sleeping Kitties

Loki and Pika

Yep, you have your own personal sleeping kitties. They come in a set of 2 and like to claim you blanket and snuggle on it all night long. There names are Pika and Loki, lovely little brother and sister that cause mischief and chaos wherever they go.  They love to purr, eat, sleep, get there snuggle on, and play with whatever is unfortunate enough to move in front of them, normally our hands or feet! On occasion they are super cute and lovable so we keep them around.


Things you get in trouble for: 
This has been a hard month for you at school and at home. It seems like if you could get in trouble for it, you have. From cussing, smarting off, hitting, making lewd motions with your hands, body and mouth, to not minding you have done it. Its been rough. You have been spanked, put in time out, grounded and we have had numerous talks about appropriate behavior and comments. Still, this month has been very challenging for us both. You have gotten into this habit of shrugging your shoulders at me and saying " I don't care." You have also gotten really bad about saying smart things when someone turns there back on you and lippin off. I swear I feel like you have been in trouble more the end of last month and this month then the whole year long!! I am praying for a change in your behavior before I lose it. You are driving the whole house batty.

TLUSA: 
This month we did our family camping trip to Ratcliff National Forest (I think its a national forest). Either way we had a blast. You helped cook over the open fire, we went canoeing, swimming, hiking and just in general goofed off and relaxed. We all needed this time together. Plus, since we plan to move in August this is the last camping trip we will get to do with your troop. I wish I took pictures, but I did not even bring my phone.

New Things: We decided to get in shape together and joined Camp Gladiator. We get our happy little selves up at 4:15 in the morning every other day and complain about soar bodies, lack of sleep and motivation. We all feel better afterwards, but it does not make the getting up and getting going any easier in the morning. You though get to go home and go back to bed, I have to get up and go to work. Lucky little duck.

Things you Enjoyed:
Debating the important topics in life with me. Things like is Batman really a superhero? Was Adam Levines rendition of Purple Rain better than the original artist Prince?Since transgenders can now use the woman's bathroom, should we all start using the men's instead? Wondering how and why Wentworth Miller went from being a total hottie to just a total mess?  When are we going to play Cards Against Humanity again so I can school you kids? Can Leonardo DiCaprio get any hotter?You know the deep stuff that you just need to know to continue living life happily. :)

AHG: 
Nada, nothing, not a flippin thing. Why? Because mamma was lazy and did not want to plan, get up, go and teach. That's why. No more to it than that. My heart was not into it this month, you complain about doing it and I decided to pick a different battle this month and you attending AHG was not it. Plus, I ended up in the hospital for 8 days with kidney stones that required surgery and I really just didn't care after that. I needed some well earned me time. Maybe we will argue about it next month for old times sake.

Struggles and Accomplishments: You got named as my evil twin by facebook. The struggle is real now. Plus, we didnt get to go to Starbucks hardly at all this moth. We got no new books. No new clothes. The struggle is alive and real yo. (HEHEHE) Couldn't help but list all your white girl problems for the month. This month has been really easy with you. You have been nice to ALL your brothers and very loving and kind for a change. I think someone might have taken over your body, but since it works in my favor I am letting them stay :) Love you princess.

Music/Boys & Other Mayhem:
Oh yea we got a category for this now. It has reached that pivot point on our mother/daughter relationship. Ok maybe its not that serious, but your obsession with boys and music is well..... obsessive. Especially one young man in particular that you have been pinning away for what seems like eons a certain Mr. Blake Russo. I think i might need to put you in Blake AA for your mood swings that happen when you two are arguing or not speaking to each other. Its like vicious whip lash some days.

New Things:
This is actually the saddest thing we had to do this year and that was put Gizmo to sleep. He got cancer that spread and we could not stop it. The vet was really nice and let us spend almost 5 hours with him playing and loving on him before we had to put him down. We got to feed him a cheeseburger, talk him for a walk and just let him know how much we cared for him. We stayed until his heart stopped beating so he did not have to spend one second alone. 

The happiest thing we did this year so far was go to Midevil Times together. We had never been and on a whim we decided to spend the money and go enjoy ourselves for a night. We had the green knight, which only made sense and even though our knight did not win, we had a great time of dinner and torment :)

Church: 
About once a month our church has tried to start doing something with the younger kids. This month you went to the "farm" and practiced your archery skills and fishing skills. You had a blast and came back closer to your leaders and the other kids in your Sunday school class. This was also the last month for AWANA. You almost made it through your book but had 4 more versus to say. What bite was if I would not have been sick one day you would have completed it and earned your book reward that you really, really wanted to get before we moved. :( Feeling disappointed. 

Things you Enjoyed:
This month you have been like a walking musical. You go around singing all sorts of crazy songs and dancing like a crazy boy. You love the Whip and Nae Nae song/dance and do it everywhere we go just impromptu. Between that and going back to the song "What does the fox say?" we have reached a weird point in our home. I do enjoy watching you do the dances and it make me laugh alot by being weird.

When you are not being a walking musical, you want to play sports (baseball mainly), your x-box (call of duty ghosts, and baseball/hockey), playing board games (chutes and ladders, game of life, candy land and connect four), or playing baby with me (I pretend to be a baby that is always 3 years old and you are the daddy taking care of me). Baby is probably absolute favorite thing to play and you get really mad at me if i do not want to play it and you have to pick something else. I dont know why you like this game so much or even how it got started ( I think I was doing a "Bobby" impression that a comic use to do and you fell in love with it), but you can spend hours literally playing this game. 

TLUSA: 
You did quit a bit with your troop this month. The manly man even which consisted of hiking, zip lines, building fires/fire pits, hatchet throwing, outdoor cooking, archery and rope walking and tree climbing I think was your favorite thing you did though. I was a little ticked off because you lost my camping backpack and your brand new Dallas Stars lunch box, but eventually I will get over it. You though had a blast and spent days telling me about it. The other really exciting thing you did was going to practice your archery skills. I don't think you ever get tired of shooting arrows. 

Generation Outdoors: Every single thing our GO group put on the scheduled was rained out all month long! it was quite depressing.We were to go camping on 2 separate occasions and both fell through, were were going to rock climb, fell through. Then we were going to do archery, bust as well. Just was not a good month for GO. 

What I Love About Drake March 2016

Height/Weight:
Unknown- I simply forgot to write it down when we went in for your monthly check up. I know I am a bad mother :) We will go with it is close to what is was last month and less than what it will be next month!

Things you Enjoyed: 
Celebrating your Yogi's birthday. He is officially 6 years old today and you felt he needed pampering. You let him sleep with your blanket, rubbed his belly extra long and sang him happy birthday. He was very pleased and very smug like he always is. After all he is King Yogi in his own mind. 

Your other highlight was actually playing at school. Things have been going good at school this month. No arguments, no meetings with your teacher and you are sitting with your classmates again instead of on your own. You have not had to miss any PE, recess or music and art classes at all this month which is huge for you! You have come home happy every day and I love seeing this in you! 

TLUSA: This month we had our big family get together for a meal at church. You had to cook a hot-dish and dessert to get a branch you had been working on so you made a chicken and rice hot-dish (along with 1/2 of the other boys in the troop!!!) and you made cookies. The party was fun and you earned your branch, but you wont get it till June at the Awards Ceremony. 

Generation Outdoors: This month you guys took in a basketball game and you watched the Heat and the Mavs I think. I am not 100% sure. I know your uncle Shane went with you, but you did not want him to sit with you and your mentor so he sat someplace else. You are weird like that. You like for your Uncle to go, but then leave you to do your own thing. You just like knowing someone is there, just in case. 



Church: We went this huge Easter Event this year at a neighboring church for their Pre-Easter events and you had a blast. You got pictures taken with the Easter bunny, ate breakfast with the bunny, played in the petting zoo, played trashcan pong (similar to beer pong), hunted for eggs of course, and just had a great time of running around, making friends and being a little boy that was carefree and really happy. You got to make huge bubbles with sticks and rope, which were actually pretty awesome, played l with the Easter Bunny and real bunnies all while never leaving the comfort of your pajamas. Life is good and God is great! 

The Easter Bunny is getting trickier :)

Compassion International: This month we did a event that showed what children from other places around the world lived like. Kids in 3rd world countries that live in extreme poverty and need help to get an education, food, medical care, clothing, etc. As a family we have sponsored 2 other little boys, but your sister wanted to find someone to sponsor. We went through 5 different homes from 5 different places where current children need sponsored. We all learned alot and really enjoyed the experience to see how God is using not only us, but these children from around the world.
